-Supposed to be for MDH, but historical accuracy demanded that I put the portrait in a bonnet. As it turns out, I really loathe bonnets and cannot shade them to save my life.

-Supposed to be Ada Lovelace, but I don't think it really looks like her. She's one of my favorite historical figures, though, so I had to try--who doesn't love a badass lady programmer? That's why she's got the punch cards, although I'm not sure you can tell that's what they are.

-Supposed to be reasonably accurate to the early 1840s, and I think I may have actually succeeded at that one. She should probably have something on her head, but I really, really hate bonnets.

-Supposed to go on a warm-colored background, so probably looks odd and yellowish here.

Despite those failures, I kind of like this anyway.

Thank you! Looking at pictures of silly hair all day and calling it "research" is one of my favorite bits of doing historical dolls.

Ada Lovelace is BADASS.

Also you are damn good at this shit.

Yes, she is.

And if by "this shit" you mean "not finishing my pageant entries", then yes. Yes I am.

shame about the bonnet but an even bigger shame would have been to cover that hair! well done :)
I quite like that the fabric on the dress looks like it has a texture because of the way you shaded it and isn't just plain and smooth like most other dolled gowns. lovely piece!

Fabric texture is one of my favorite things to play around with, and I love the way you do texture in your dolls, so that's quite the compliment. Thank you very much!
